About ENT-masterclass®

  The ENT-masterclass® is a concept for delivering high quality education in otorhinolaryngology and related areas of otolaryngology, created by a faculty with a national and international reputation in the UK. The International ENT Masterclass® platform (www.entmasterclass.com) currently provides free resources to over 50,000 surgeons each year through the website. Over the past 18 years, ENT trainees, physicians from the UK, Europe, Australia, America, Africa and Asia have attended and benefited from these intensive workshops which cover a wide range of topics.

  The first ENT-masterclass® course in Uzbekistan took place in 2019. Tashkent. This training platform, attracting consultants from all over the world, provides high-quality otorhinolaryngology training to world-renowned leaders in their field who have held successful events in India, China, Australia, Germany, Europe and are expanding their presence in Central Asia.

  Otorhinolaryngology specialists will provide an extensive academic program with classes focused on otology, rhinology, head and neck surgery, pediatric and ENT oncology.

   The course will last for 2 days, including lectures, panel sessions with discussion, broadcast of surgical operations and cases.

Mr Muradov has been instrumental in promoting the idea of collaboration between the ENT Masterclass International Faculty with colleagues in Central Asia. This platform shall be helpful to share clinical experience between different parts of the world and provide training and improve patient care.

Mr Michael Kuo PhD FRCS

  Mr Michael Kuo is an ear, nose and throat surgeon with a special interest in children’s ENT disorders, particularly in paediatric head and neck diseases, thyroid swellings, voice disorders, breathing problems and hearing disorders.
Mr Kuo graduated from the University of Birmingham and also trained at the University of Hong Kong. He spent three years pursuing molecular biology research as a Medical Research Council and Royal College of Surgeons fellow, which lead to a PhD.
He chairs the education committee of the European Society for Paediatric Otolaryngology. Mr Kuo has published numerous original research papers, review articles and book chapters. He serves as the only UK member of the Editorial Board of The Laryngoscope. He is the Past-President at the Royal Society of Medicine, Section of Laryngology & Rhinology.

He qualified from London University in 1985 and was trained in London and Cambridge. He was appointed Consultant Otolaryngologist & Skull Base Surgeon at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth and Children’s Hospitals in 1997.

To date he has published more than 100 articles on a variety of subjects related to ears and ear disease.

As a surgeon with an academic interest, Richard serves on the Editorial Boards of a number of international journals, including Otology & Neurotology, The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, and The International Journal of Advanced Otology. He is the current Secretary of the British Society for The History of ENT and The British Society of Otology and Past President of the Royal Society of Medicine Section of Otology.

Prof Khaydarova Gavkhar (Republic of Uzbekistan)

PhD, MD., Associate Professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Dentistry of the Tashkent Medical Academy.
Dr. Gavkhar  Khaydarova is a dedicated otolaryngologist, subspecializing in audiology and phoniatry. Pedagogical activities: teacher of  otorhinolaryngology for students of medicine studies, tutor of  audiology and phoniatrics for postgraduate residents. She was a supervisor 12 master of science theses, and 1 doctoral dissertations at the Tashkent Medical Academy. She has expanded her knowledge at Italy, Korea, Turkey. Her fields of clinical interest are neurogenic voice disorders, hearing problems in children and adults. Member of The Union of the European Phoniatricians (UEP).   

Miss Emma Stapleton FRCS

Consultant Otolaryngologist and Skull Base Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Salford Royal Hospital. Her clinical practice includes lateral skull base surgery, cochlear implantation, complex otology, NF2 and balance. She qualified from the University of Edinburgh and has undertaken sub-specialty fellowship training in Glasgow and Manchester, as well as short fellow-ships to Canada, Australia, USA and France. Emma has won over 20 prizes and awards, including the Hallpike Prize for outstanding work in the field of audiovestibular research, and the Hunterian Prize for original work on the history of surgery. She has editorial roles at ENT and Audiology News and ENT UK, and is currently chair of the ENT UK Sepsis group. She enjoys teaching and has an interest in global health.

Mr Asad Qayyum 

Mr Asad Qayyum FRCS is a consultant Otologist and General ENT Surgeon at the Peterborough City Hospital, UK. He completed his ENT training at St Mary’s Hospital, London and as a Specialist Registrar on the East of England training scheme. He has done research on the genetics of hearing loss and spent a year at the Sanger Genome Institute in Cambridge. He was an International Otology Fellow at the Royal Darwin Hospital in Australia. He is the Training Programme Director in Otolaryngology for the East of England Deanery. He has presented extensively in international and national ENT conferences.

 FRCS, is a Consultant rhinologist/facial plastic surgeon at Charing Cross and Royal Brompton Hospitals, Honorary senior lecturer, Imperial College London.

He was the President of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and Past President of the section of Rhinology in the Royal Society of Medicine. He is an elected council member of Facial Plastic Surgery-UK (FPS-UK) and British Rhinological Society (BRS). He is the Chairman of the Editorial Board of Journal of ENT Masterclass.

He is a Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and has been honored with the Claus D. Walter Award for Academic Excellence by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

PhD., Associate Professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Tajik State Medical University named after Abu ali ibn Sino.

Graduated from TSMU. Abuali ibn Sino in 1980. Cand. diss "Clinic, diagnosis and complex treatment of chronic allergic rhinitis using low-frequency ultrasound and cryotherapy" 1995. Doctoral diss. "Surgical correction of nasal deformities associated with the pathology of the nasal cavity" 2023. From 2010 to 2023 - head. Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Avicenna TSMU Abuali ibn Sino. Since 2022 - associate professor of the department. Chairman of the scientific society of ENT doctors of the Republic of Tatarstan. Scientific direction - rhinology, rhinosinus surgery, study of pathologies and benign tumors of the nose and SNPs.

Mr Shahzada Ahmed

NHS Consultant Rhinologist and Skull Base Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham, UK.

He specializes in all aspects of Rhinology including functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty. He performs frontal sinus surgery, expanded endonasal skull base surgery and has an independent pituitary surgery practice.

He has set up specialized clinics in Chronic Facial Pain, Allergy (in which he has patients having nasal aspirin desensitization), vasculitis and for patients with Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia. His research interests include image-guided sinus surgery, cone beam CT sinus imaging and pituitary surgery outcomes.

He runs a clinical fellowship programme for post CCT and senior trainees.

Professor of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ORL&HNS) at Dokuz Eylul University School of Medicine, İzmir-Turkey.

Head of ENT Schools of Turkish Society of ORL&HNS and an active member of Turkish Society of ORL&HNS, Society of Head and Cancers of Turkey, European Head and Neck Society, American Head and Neck Society, and Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery.

He has over 150 scientific articles published and is on editorial boards of different national and international journals.

Mr Richard Oakley

Consultant Head and Neck Surgeon, Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust, London, United Kingdom. He is the clinical lead for head and neck cancer services and the Training Programme Director for the South London higher surgical training scheme in otolaryngology. Richard worked in California as a clinical instructor in head and neck surgical oncology at Stanford University Hospital and clinics. Whilst at Stanford he undertook head and neck cancer stem cell research at their institute for cancer stem cell research under Dr John Sunwoo.

He is an Australian, UK and US ​trained ENT Head and Neck Surgeon with fellowship training in surgery for head and neck cancers, thyroid, salivary glands, laser, voice and swallowing disorders.  

​He is currently Assoc Prof in University of Sydney. Prior to this he was consultant head and neck surgeon in Cambridge University Hospitals UK​.

Completed fellowship training requirements for transoral robotic surgery for cancer and sleep apnoea surgery at University of Pennsylvania (USA) to be accredited in the latest DaVinci robot technology.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS).​ He is the Chief Coordinator of ENT Masterclass ‘Australia’.

Consultant Head & Neck Surgeon, UK.

He did his higher surgical training in Scotland, New Zealand and Canada and is actively involved in Medical education and training in Head & Neck surgery.

He was the lead clinician for Head & Neck surgery at Shrewsbury Hospital.

He is a member of the Board of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons for the Intercollegiate FRCS exams and a member of the Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) at the Royal College of Surgeons.

He completed his residency from the West of Scotland ENT training program. He did a fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery in Cape Town with Prof Johan Fagan. He has been a faculty members in national and international meetings and has organized numerous dissection courses in Head & Neck surgery. He is currently working at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, Pakistan.

She graduated from the magistracy at the NJSC "Astana Medical University" in 2013-2015, she was a doctoral student in 2019-2022 at the NJSC "Astana Medical University" in medicine. Passed constant advanced training in Estonia, South Korea, Russia, Turkey, Armenia.
